Ron Weasley

Ronald "Ron" Bilius Weasley (born 1 March 1980) is a fictional character in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series of children's books. He has been portrayed by actor Rupert Grint in all Harry Potter films so far.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ron along with his brothers Fred and George fly their father's magical Ford Anglia to Privet Drive to rescue Harry. He later drives the Ford Anglia again to Hogwarts, after he and Harry could not get through to Platform 9 and 3/4. The car, whilst flying, crashed into an old magical tree called the Whomping Willow, where the car ran away, leaving Ron with a broken wand with Harry outside Hogwarts. As muggles saw them driving the flying car, they both got detention with Ron having to clean medals and trophies with the caretaker Argus Filch. When some blood on a wall announced that the Chamber of Secrets had been opened, Harry, Ron and Hermione investigated, and suspected Draco, and started to brew a Polyjuice Potion, letting the drinker transform themself into another person.

Meanwhile Draco called Hermione a Mudblood, and for this Ron tried to curse Draco, but the spell backfired. The film gives the incantation as being "Eat Slugs", with the victim producing slugs every minute, but in the book that is not the case. Ron used the Polyjuice Potion to turn into Draco's sidekick Crabbe and, along with Harry, went to interrogate Draco, only to find that it wasn't Draco who opened the Chamber. Ron and Harry later found a diary in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom belonging to Tom Marvolo Riddle. Ron tells Harry that while he was cleaning medals and trophies in detention, he noticed a trophy belonging to T.M. Riddle for special services to the school fifty years ago. Later, Ron finds out that his sister Ginny has been taken into the chamber, and that her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever. Ron and Harry take action, and when Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher Professor Lockhart attempts to leave as he is not the person he says to be, they take him along to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, and they find the Chamber of Secrets.

They all go down a slide to the bottom, where Lockhart attempts to do a memory charm on them using Ron's wand. However Lockhart's charm backfires, and Lockhart loses his memory. The ceiling caves in, and Harry has to defeat Riddle and rescue Ginny on his own. Harry rescues Ginny, and Ron flies back with them both and Lockhart. Ron and Harry go to see Professor Dumbledore and are both rewarded with house points and special services to school.
