Ron Dittemore


 

Ron D. Dittemore (born April 13, 1952, Cooperstown, New York) was shuttle program manager of NASA.

Career

Before joining NASA at Johnson Space Center(JSC) in 1977, Ron Dittemore worked as a turboprop/turbofan engine development engineer in Arizona. While at JSC, Dittemore has held serveral positions, including flight director on 11 shuttle missions, deputy assistant director of the Space Station Program and manager of Space Shuttle Program Integration. He has held his current position, manager of the Space Shuttle Program, since 1999.

Current Occupation

As shuttle program manager Ron Dittemore takes part in the decision, whether to send a shuttle into orbit or not. His office is responsible for functions at JSC, Kennedy Space Center, Marshall Space Flight Center and Stennis Space Center -- with a small support function at NASA headquarters.
