Rod Smith (politician)

Senator Rod Smith (born November 15, 1949 in Southwest City, Missouri, USA) is a member of the Florida Senate from Gainesville, Florida and is a candidate for Governor of Florida in 2006.

In January 2005, Senator Rod Smith announced his candidacy in the 2006 campaign for Florida Governor at U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd's ranch in Monticello, Florida, near Tallahassee. Smith faces Tampa congressman Jim Davis in the Democratic primary election.
