Rod Serling
Edwin Rodman "Rod" Serling (December 25, 1924 – June 28, 1975) was a screenwriter, most famous for his science fiction TV series, The Twilight Zone. He was born in Syracuse, New York to Samuel and Esther Serling.
Night Gallery
In 1969, NBC aired a pilot for a new Serling show, "Night Gallery". This was to be a show focused more on the macabre and Gothic horror, but Serling had allowed himself to lose creative control of the content. The producers rejected Serling?s more thoughtful scripts in favor of weekly monsters. The show devolved into what Serling referred to as "Mannix in a graveyard". Night Gallery lasted until 1974.
