Rockford is a city located in Winnebago County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 150,116. It is the third largest city in Illinois and county seat of Winnebago County{{GR|6}}. The mayor is Lawrence J. Morrissey, an independent elected to a four year term in April 2005.
