Robin Hunicke
Robin Hunicke is a researcher on artificial intelligence at Northwestern University and éminence grise in the video game industry. Through her photojournalism, role as an academic-industry liaison, and work celebrating indie and creative game designers, Hunicke is a hub in game culture.

A regular participant in the Game Developers Conference, Hunicke has also participated in a number of the Indie Game Jam events. Started in October 2003, her weblog, "gewgaw" tracks the intersections of her various interests. In 2004, her site evangelized the upstart artistic game from Japanese designer Keita Takahashi, Katamari Damacy.

Hunicke was raised in Saratoga, New York and went to high school in Florida. She attended the University of Chicago as an undergraduate; today she is working on her PhD in Artificial Intelligence at Northwestern University in Chicago.
