Robert Livingston the Younger
Robert Livingston the Younger (1663 - April 1725), son of James Livingston, and nephew of Robert Livingston the Elder. Born in Scotland, he emigrated to America from Rotterdam in 1687 and in 1697 married Margareta Schuyler, the daughter of Peter Schuyler, the mayor of Albany. He managed his uncle's Albany enterprises, becoming, serially, city clerk, county clerk alderman and deputy mayor, while simultaneoulsy becoming a prominent merchant. He served as mayor of Albany from 1710-1719.
