~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Robert Henri (June 25, 1865-1929) born in Cincinnati, Ohio but grew up in the small town of Cozad, Nebraska, which his father had founded. Henri was an American painter notable for his teaching and leadership of the Ashcan School movement in art. Originally named Robert Henry Cozad, he began teaching at the New York School of Art in 1898. He also wrote The Art Spirit in 1923. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
