Riverdale is a fictional town that is the setting for most of the various characters that appear in Archie Comics.

Riverdale is usually shown as being a medium-sized town, with all the usual amenities of such---a mall, restaurants, etc. The local populace is usually fairly friendly.

While Riverdale's location was never clearly defined, other nearby towns include Greendale, the home of Sabrina the Teenage Witch (who at one point lived in Riverdale, but eventually moved), and the hometown of Josie and the Pussycats. Riverdale and many of the characters and sites are based on Haverhill, Massachusetts, hometown of Archie creator Bob Montana.
