Riparian

Riparian areas or zones are the interface between land and water, and the adjacent land if frequently inundated with water. In other words, the floodways of streams. Riparian zones are important topics in civil engineering due to erosion control, ecology and the large effect they have on aquatic ecosystems. Riparian strips refer to riparians and the vegetation growing there.
