Constant injuries, including a serious knee injury, have blighted the past few years of Wright's career and he has gone from being the proposed big money replacement for David Seaman at Arsenal to understudying Nigel Martyn at Everton. He is generally not considered to be in the reckoning for a place in England's national team.
