Ribatejo
The Ribatejo is the most central region of Portugal. It may be translated as "Above the Tagus". The region is crossed by the Tagus and is the agricultural heart of the country.

Although it has no officially defined borders, being only an historical and cultural region, are usually considered to be part of it the municipalities of Abrantes, Alcanena, Almeirim, Alpiarça, Azambuja, Benavente, Cartaxo, Chamusca, Constância, Coruche, Golegã, Ponte de Sor, Salvaterra de Magos, Santarém, Tomar and Vila Nova da Barquinha.
