Rhythm and Hues Studios


 

Rhythm & Hues Studios is an Academy Award winning visual effects studio, founded in 1987 by six former employees of Robert Abel and Associates. The company is located in Los Angeles, California and is perhaps best known for its computer generated 3D character animation. The studio received the Oscar® for Best Visual Effects in 1995 for its work on Babe, named by the film reviewers of the Associated Press as one of the Top Ten Movies of the Decade. The studio was named one of Top Five Visual Effects Powerhouses by Wired Magazine in September, 2002, and again in August 2004 by Newsweek.

The studio's signature CG animation is showcased in the movie versions of Garfield, Scooby Doo, Cats and Dogs, and Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat. On the visual effects side, recent work includes Elektra, The Chronicles of Riddick, X-Men 2, The Sum of All Fears, and many more. The studio has over 100 feature films to its credit.

Rhythm & Hues has also produced many popular animated commercial campaigns, including the Coca-Cola Polar Bears, GEICO's Gecko, the Hartford Stag, and the Target dog.
