Return to Forever
Return to Forever was a name for various jazz fusion bands that were founded and led by Chick Corea with Stanley Clarke. First band (1972) played more latin oriented music with Flora Purim's vocals. Four albums released during years 1973-1976 can be categorized as "jazz-rock". Influences were taken from psychedelic rock, progressive rock and funk). The group won the Best Jazz Performance by a Group Grammy Award in 1975 for the album No Mystery. The final form of Return to Forever featured four piece horn section and Corea's wife Gayle singing vocals. Just one studioalbum was recorded with this lineup. In 1980 White/Di Meola -line up returned briefly on the stage, but they did not record an new album.
