Reparative therapy
Reparative therapy, or conversion, reorientation or differentiation therapy, is any of several controversial religious or secular techniques that are aimed at changing a person's sexual orientation from homosexuality to heterosexuality (or ex-gay). Their efficacy has not been established, and most professionals warn that such attempts may be psychologically harmful. Advocates claim that sexual orientation is changeable and that homosexuality is itself either a psychological disorder, a sin, a tendency toward immoral and harmful behaviours (to oneself and others), or make several of these assertions.
