Regional Theatre Tony Award
The Regional Theatre Tony Award is a special Tony Award given to a region theatre company in the United States. A one-off award for "Contribution to Development of Regional Theatre" was issued in 1948 to Robert Porterfield of the Virginia Barter Theatre. The Regional Theatre awards began in 1976 and have continued every year since then.
