Redding is a town located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 8,270.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 8,270 people, 2,918 households, and 2,413 families residing in the town. The population density is 101.4/km² (262.5/mi²). There are 3,086 housing units at an average density of 37.8/km² (98.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.15% White, 0.75% African American, 0.07% Native American, 1.78% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 0.83% from two or more races. 1.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

The average household size is 2.83 and the average family size is 3.13.
