Record producer
In the music industry, a record producer (or music producer) is (among many other tasks) primarily responsible for completing a 'master' recording so that it is fit for mass production and commercial release. He or she controls the recording sessions, coaches and guides the performers, and supervises the recording, mixing and mastering processes. This has been a major function of producers since the inception of sound recording, but in the latter half of the 20th century producers also took on a wider entrepreneurial role.
