Reba is an American sitcom starring country music singer Reba McEntire. The show first aired on The WB television network in October 2001 and soon became the network's highest-rated comedy. Reba McEntire plays a single mother named "Reba Hart" whose former husband Brock (Christopher Rich) left her to marry his ditsy dental hygienist Barbara Jean, aka B.J. (Melissa Peterman), who is Reba's nemesis, although B.J. considers Reba her best (and perhaps only) friend. Reba's oldest daughter, Cheyenne (Joanna Garcia) became pregnant in high school and married the father, Van Montgomery (Steve Howey), a dim-witted but well-meaning football player. Reba's other two children are Kyra (Scarlett Pomers), a rebelious teenager, and Jake (Mitch Holleman), a young boy just trying to sort through the mess of his family.

Two new young characters joined the show in the spring of 2002: Brock and B.J.'s son Henry (Alexander & Jackson McClellan), and Van and Cheyenne's daughter Elizabeth (Alena & Gabrielle LeBerger). In another plot development, B.J. and Brock moved into a house on the same street as Reba's, so that B.J. is almost constantly at Reba's house. Also, B.J. and Brock had marriage troubles and separated for a while.
