  • Set the land speed record of 207.55 mph (334.02 km/h) on April 22 1928 at Daytona Beach, USA, in the 81-liter triple-engined internal combustion White Triplex Spirit of Elkdom
  • Won the Indianapolis 500 in 1929
  • Died in a racing accident in 1929
  • Buried at the Hephzibah cemetery in Modena, PA in Chester County
