Ray Evernham
Ray Evernham was a pit crew chief for NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon from late 1992 to 1999 before breaking off from Gordon's team to form his own motorsports team, Evernham Motorsports in late 1999. The team would also be the cornerstone for Dodge's return to Winston Cup racing in 2001. Currently, Evernham Motorsports fields two full-time cars: the #9 driven by Kasey Kahne and the #19 driven by Jeremy Mayfield, along with the #91 driven by Bill Elliott on a part-time basis. On July 1, 2005, Evernham announced that he will field a third full-time car in 2006 with the #10 and Valvoline as both part-owner of the car and as the primary sponsor for 22 races. Scott Riggs was announced as the driver of the car on August 27, 2005.
