Rainbow flag
A rainbow flag is a multi-colored flag consisting of stripes in the colors of the rainbow.

The use of rainbow flags has a long tradition; they are displayed in many cultures around the world as a sign of diversity and inclusiveness, of hope and of yearning. This denotation goes back to the rainbow as a symbol of biblical promise, and the use of all the colours of the rainbow symbolises all flags in one.

Already in the German Peasants' War of the 16th century, the rainbow flag together with the peasants' boot ("Bundschuh") was used as the sign of a new era, of hope and of social change.

The reformer Thomas Müntzer connected socially revolutionary claims with his preaching of the gospel. He is often portrayed with a rainbow flag in his hand. The Thomas Müntzer statue in the German town of Stolberg also shows him holding a rainbow flag in his hand.

There are several, unrelated rainbow flags in use today. The best known is probably the gay pride one. The peace flag is especially popular in Italy. There are also other, less well known rainbow flags.

Couple seek third to share a 2br/2ba luxury apartment (fremont / union city / newark) $750
We are a couple looking to share a luxury apartment in Fremont with another person. There is no set date to begin living there, but we want to move ASAP. Typical rent for the type of apartment we want is in the $1800 to $1900 range. Our roommate will be expected to pay 40% of the rent and 33% of the utilities. We feel it is appropriate for the person to pay 40% since they will have half of the bedroom space. We also have all the furnishing and décor needed for a two bedroom apartment, except for the room you would be occupying. By the time a roommate is selected, we will have narrowed down possible living locations to a few choices. At that time, everyone can give their input for a final selection. Us: • Gay male couple in their mid 20’s. Not the rainbow flag waving type. • Steady income (I have had the same job for over 7 years). • Clean and with good hygiene. • Non-smokers. Do not use drugs. • Light social drinkers. • Non-Religious, but very tolerant of others’ religions. • We are not partiers, but enjoy being social. You: • Any sex, age, or ethnicity. • No smoking or drugs. • No parties at the apartment but, of course, friends and guests are welcome. • Steady income. • Have the ability to pick up after yourself and do your fair share of cleaning without being asked to.
