Known for his strong skating, Dvořák played in the NHL the very next season, and would spend four and a half seasons playing for Florida, before being involved in a three-way trade for Mike Vernon. Dvořák ended up on the New York Rangers, and the following season (2000/01), he scored a career-high 30 goals and 67 points playing on a line with fellow Czechs Petr Nedv?d and Jan Hlavac. The New York Rangers continued to disappoint, however, and following weak play, Dvořák was traded to the Edmonton Oilers at the 2002/03 NHL trade deadline, along with Cory Cross, for Anson Carter and Ales Pisa.
