Rachel True (born November 15, 1966) is an African-American actress originally from New York. True is the step-daughter of actress Verona Barnes, and developed a love for acting as a child, watching her step-mother participate in different plays.

By 1993, she had moved to Los Angeles, and appeared opposite Chris Rock in his movie spoof CB4. After CB4, she was cast alongside Alyssa Milano for the movie Embrace of the Vampire. True's next movie was The Craft, where she played a member of a gothic teenage coven along with Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell and Fairuza Balk. True and Campbell became best friends during the filming, a friendship they maintain.

In 2002, True teamed up with Essence Atkins to star in the UPN comedy, Half & Half. For three seasons she has played the character Mona Thorne, a wacky, twenty-something music industry executive in San Francisco who is working on strengthening her relationship with the half sister who has just moved into her apartment building.
