Quagmire

Quagmire can refer to any of the following:

• is an English noun, derived from "quake" + "mire", meaning literally "shaky, miry ground." (See swamp.) It is frequently used metaphorically to describe military campaigns characterized by small hope of victory, poorly-defined objectives and/or no clear exit strategy. Its use in political debate emerged during the Vietnam War. More recent users of the term may choose it specifically to allude to the Vietnam conflict.
• Joshua Quagmire (or JQ) is an American cartoonist, best known for Cutey Bunny.
• Quagmire McDuck is a minor character in Walt Disney comic books, a distant ancestor of Scrooge McDuck.
• Glen Quagmire is a character from the animated television sitcom Family Guy.
• Quagmire is the setting for Ben Dunn's Ninja high school comics, and the title of two mini-series spun off from them.
• Quagmire is the name of the 22nd episode in the 3rd season of the television drama, The X-Files.
