The term Pullman was often used to refer to railroad sleeping cars in the United States, and to railway dining cars in Europe, which were both run by the Pullman Company (founded by George Pullman) or lounge cars operated by the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. In Britain, Pullman refers to the lounge cars operated by the "British Pullman Car Company."
