Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935
The Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935 (PUHCA) is a law that was passed to keep utility holding companies from using profits from their regulated business activities in unregulated businesses. The PUHCA requires that all non-utility businesses be kept separate from the regulated business.
