The word "proxy" can mean more than one thing:
Business
- a political or business proxy representative
- A proxy statement is an announcement of and an invitation to a stockholders' meeting. SEC proxy rules: The term "proxy statement" means the statement required by $240.14a-3(a) whether or not contained in a single document.
