Provincetown, Massachusetts

Provincetown is a town located at the tip of Cape Cod in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,431. "P-town", as it is sometimes called, is known for its beaches, artists, and tourist industry, and is a significant gay resort.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census, Provincetown has a total area of 45.2 km² (17.5 mi²). 25.0 km² (9.7 mi²) of it is land and 20.2 km² (7.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 44.71% water.
