Alcohol is prohibited in many remote indigenous communities across Australia. Penalties for transporting alcohol into these "dry" communities is severe and can result in confiscation of any vehicles involved. In the Northern Territory, all vehicles used to transport alcohol are seized and there is no right of appeal.
