Proastiakos


 

Proastiakos (Greek: Προαστιακός, literally "the Suburban") is the new suburban railway system of Athens, Greece. It currently connects "Larissa Station" (Athens Central Railway Station) with Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport. It will expand in a few years to reach Korinthos and Loutraki to the south, Thiva and Chalkida to the north and East Attica, as well as Piraeus and Elefsina. This new rail system is controlled by OSE (Organismos Sidirodromon Ellados, Οργανισμός Σιδηροδρόμων Ελλάδος in Greek), which controls all railways of Greece.

From Larissa station

Larissa Station: Athens Central Railway Station, connection with Attiko Metro Line 2 (Aghios Antonios - Aghios Dimitrios)

  • This line runs north of and runs almost entirely within GR-8A (Athens - Corinth - Patras), to west of the Eleusis tolls, the track runs northward, From west of the tolls to Kakia Skala and from Kineta to northwest of Agioi Theodoroi, the track runs southward, from near the refinery to near the Corinth (West) Interchange, the track runs north of the superhighway.

From Neratziotissa

Neratziotissa: close to the Athens Olympic Sports Complex (O.A.K.A.), connection with Metro Line 1 (ISAP) (Piraeus - Kifissia)

Kifisias: the station is located on each side of Kifisias Avenue, one of the largest avenues of Athens.

Plakentias: the station is located on Doukissis Plakentias Avenue, connection with Attiko Metro Line 3 (Monastiraki - Doukissis Plakentias - Airport)
