ProSieben is a commercial television channel in Germany. It started business on October 1, 1988. Since 2003 the channel, as part of the ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG (N24, Kabel1, Sat.1 & ProSieben), is owned by a group of investors lead by Haim Saban. In 2005 the ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG has been owned by the Axel Springer- Verlag (f.ex. Bild-magazine) for 2.2 billion EURO. Now it's the third biggest media-concern in Europe. ProSieben is Germany's second largest privately owned television company. Although most of ProSieben's programming is self-produced, it is largely known for its American series and movies, shown throughout the week during prime time.
