Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha
Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (1908-1972) was Duchess of Västerbotten and a Princess of Sweden, and the mother of the future Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. She was the daughter of Carl Eduard, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and of Albany, and Princess Victoria Adelaide of Schleswig-Holstein (herself daughter of Caroline Mathilde of Augustenborg and Frederik Ferdinand of Glucksburg), from an ancient Scandinavian princely house.

In 1932 she married Prince Gustav-Adolf of Sweden, Duke of Västerbotten, the eldest son and heir apparent of the future King Gustav VI Adolf, but as her husband died before her grandfather-in-law, Sibylla never became crown princess herself. Sibylla and Prince Gustav-Adolf of Sweden had five children:

When Prince Gustav-Adolf died in an airplane accident at Copenhagen Airport in Denmark, their son Gustav-Adolf became his grandfather's heir apparent at the age of one year, and later the Crown Prince at the age of four. Sibylla died before her son ascended the throne.
