Princess Benedikte of Denmark


 

Her Royal Highness Benedikte Astrid Ingeborg Ingrid, Princess of Denmark, Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (Benedikte Astrid Ingeborg Ingrid of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, née Glucksburg, born 29 April 1944) is a daughter of King Frederick IX of Denmark and Queen Ingrid. She is the younger sister of the current reigning Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II.

She was married on 3 February 1968 at Fredensborg Palace Church to Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, (b. 29 October 1934). He is the son of Prince Gustav Albrecht of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (1907 - 1944) and his wife, Margareta Fouchè (b. 1909-2005).
