Prince Felix of Bourbon-Parma


 

Felix of Bourbon-Parma, HRH Felix Marie Vincent Prince of Bourbon-Parma, (October 28, 1883-April 8, 1970) was the consort of Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg.

Felix was the son of Robert I, Duke of Parma and his second wife, Maria Antonia of Portugal. He was also the younger brother of the Empress Zita of Austria.

On November 6th, 1919 he married Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg, by whom he had six children. After his marriage, his full title was HRH Felix Marie Vincent Prince de Luxembourg, Prince of Bourbon-Parma. His status as a Prince of Bourbon-Parma is the reason that the Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg uses the style HRH.

He served in the Austrian Regiment Dragoons as Lieutenant and Captain, but resigned his commission on November 1918. He was President of the Luxembourg Red Cross between 1923 and 1932 and again between 1947 and 1969. He was also Colonel of the Luxembourg Volunteers Company since 1920 and Inspector-General of the Luxembourg Army between 1945 and 1967.
