Poyle


 
 

Poyle is a village and suburb in the unitary authority of Slough, in South East England.

It is situated immediately west of the M25 motorway and 16.8 miles (27 km) west of Charing Cross.

The village lies within the traditional borders of Middlesex and from 1930 was part of the Staines urban district which was transferred to Surrey in 1965. From 1974 it formed part of the borough of Spelthorne.

In 1995 it became, along with Colnbrook in Buckinghamshire, part of the Colnbrook and Poyle parish of the new Slough Unitary Authority and is considered to be in Berkshire for ceremonial and Lord Lieutenantcy purposes.
