Position

The word position can have one of several meanings.

• 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional location in a coordinate system;
• Occupation, job;
• In politics and government a position is a formally stated opinion on a well defined issue;
• Positioning in marketing;
• In finance, position refers to the amount of a security, option or futures contract under control;
• In sport(s), position refers to the location on occupies and consequently the skills one demonstrates in the playing arena;
• In poker, position refers to a player's location at the table in relation to the dealer.
• Human positions refer to positions of a human body;
