Portage, Pennsylvania
Portage is a borough located in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, seven miles (11 km) southeast of Ebensburg. Coal mining was the lifeblood of Portage. In 1900, 816 people lived here, and in 1910, there were 2,954 residents. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 2,837.
