Polizia di Stato
The Polizia di Stato (State Police) is one of the two national police forces of Italy.

The Polizia di Stato is responsible for providing general police duties in Italy, patrolling the autostrada, railways and certain waterways, and assisting the local police. It is a civil police force, in contrast to the other main police force in Italy, the Carabinieri, which is a military police (gendarmerie) force. Its headquarters are located in Rome and it is organized on a regional and provincial basis.
