Pleasure Island
Pleasure Island is an area of the Walt Disney World resort set aside for adults near Downtown Disney. It typically does not open until the evening, and is open later than all the other parks. Pleasure Island is home to various clubs and is one of several areas where alcohol is served (Every park except Magic Kingdom serves alcohol somewhere within). It opened on June 1, 1989.

Pleasure Island is named for the fictional 'Pleasure Island' in the 1940 film Pinocchio. In the movie, children on the island are allowed to play and never work. However, these unsupervised children smoke, drink alcohol and generally misbehave, and are eventually punished by being changed into donkeys that have to work in salt mines.

However, the backstory of the area actually has nothing to do with the Pinocchio story, but rather, the island's nightclubs were once home to a shipping company owned by the adventurous businessman Merriweather Pleasure. Soon however, a great storm destroyed the business and Mr. Pleasure dissapeared with the warehouses remaining behind. Years later, these warehouses were refurbished and converted to a series of clubs, each one having something to do with the certain warehouse's original function.

Pleasure Island has a comedy club, the "Comedy Warehouse", which features an improv comedy troupe. It also has an adventurers club, which recreates a 1920s-1930s era club for adventurers.
