Please Don't Eat the Daisies was a best-selling collection of humorous essays by American humorist and playwright, Jean Kerr. The essays did not have a plot or through-storyline, but the book sold so well it was later adapted into a film starring Doris Day and David Niven. The film was later adapted into a television series starring Pat Crowley.

Author Jean Kerr was married to legendary New York drama critic Walter Kerr until his death. She collaborated with him on several theatre projects, including the musical comedy Goldilocks and the Tony Award-winning King of Hearts. Her play Mary, Mary ran for over 1,500 performances on Broadway -one of the longest-running plays in history.
