Planetary core
The planetary core consists of the innermost layers of a planet.

It can be liquid or solid, depending on factors such as the planet's size, age, and its proximity to its star. Earth's core is partially liquid, while the core of Mars is thought to be solid., especially since much of its magnetic field has been stripped away. This is due to the fact only a liquid core generates a magnetic field.
