Pizza Hut is a restaurant chain and international food franchise based in Dallas, Texas specializing in pizza. Pizza Hut is the world's largest pizza restaurant chain, with nearly 12,000 restaurants, delivery-carry out units and kiosks in more than 86 countries.

In Australia, Pizza Hut has followed a different model—after an initial attempt to introduce Pizza Hut restaurants as in the United States and the United Kingdom, Australian Pizza Huts now generally operate as take out and delivery operations, with minimal seating. Originally, Australian Pizza Huts were comparable to their American counterparts but due to increased competition from other fast food chains, they were scaled back. Pizza Hut in Australia is currently under threat from Domino's, Pizza Haven, and various other pizza stores. The situation has been similar for the brand in neighbouring country New Zealand.

In South Australia, since 1999 till present there has been a 'pizza price war' in South Australia, with the cost of a pizza reduced to as low as $4.95 AUD. This crippled Pizza Hut's restaurants, and led to their closure—with the exception of two (being at Mount Gambier and Marion). The remaining smaller stores are owned by Spencer Gulf Enterprises Pty Ltd (SA).
