Phillip "Pip" Pirrup is an underrated and often mistreated character in South Park, who is heavily based on Pip, the protagonist from the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations. An awkward British exchange student, Pip's role in the series can be seen as early as the pilot episode. Pip remained a prominent character on the series during the first season but was ultimately phased out during the third and fourth seasons in favour of Butters Stotch. Pip's biggest roles included winning the world dodgeball tournament in episode 205 "Conjoined Fetus Lady", attending a meteor shower party in 308 "Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub" and retelling Charles Dickens' Great Expectations in 405 "Pip". Pip returned once more in 606 "Professor Chaos" as a possible replacement friend for Kenny but was ultimately beaten out by Tweek. Since then Pip has been seen in various background scenes but has yet to be heard from again.
