Philles Records

Philles Records was formed in 1961 by Phil Spector and Lester Sill. The name of the label is based on the first letters of their first names. In 1962 Phil Spector purchased Lester Sill's stocks and became sole owner. Thus, at 21 years of age, Phil Spector became America's youngest label chief. The label topped the charts in 1965 with "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by The Righteous Brothers, who came from the small Moonglow Records.
