Pharez
In the Book of Genesis, Pharez or P?retz (פֶּרֶץ / פָּרֶץ "Breach", Standard Hebrew P?reẓ / P?reẓ, Tiberian Hebrew P?reṣ / Pāreṣ) is the son of Judah by the Canaanitish woman Tamar. He was the twin brother of Zerah (Gen. 38:27-30). According to the geneology provided in the Book of Ruth (4:18-22), Peretz was an ancestor of King David. The Book of Matthew also mentions him (1:3) in establishing the descendency of Jesus from David. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
