Phalanx is a space shooter video game designed by Kemco for the Super Nintendo and Game Boy Advance.

It is mostly infamous for displaying in the American version a very eccentric box art that very hardly fits the space shooting theme: it displays an old bearded man dressed in overalls, wearing a fedora and playing banjo, while staring surprised at a spaceship.

The box art designers later admitted that they have deliberately chosen this theme, in order to attract the customer with something original considering that there were many space shooters in the market that looked alike.
