Petty Officer
In the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Navy, a petty officer is a noncommissioned officer. The title petty officer is roughly equivalent to that of sergeant in the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Marine Corps.
