Peter Viereck

Peter Viereck (1916- ) is an influential center right American political thinker and noted poet. He held for some time the Kennan Chair in History at Mount Holyoke College. He was professor of German history as well.

Vierick is something of a conservative free thinker, feeling that the New Deal should be preserved.

Viereck had been continuously writing for publication from 1938 to 2005. In 1949 he received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his work Terror and Decorum
