People for the American Way
People for the American Way (PFAW) is a prominent liberal advocacy organization in the United States, founded by television producer Norman Lear (All in the Family) in 1980. Frequently a major public opponent of the religious right, PFAW has been particularly visible in battles over judicial nominations. It has also been active in recent years on a number of issues, including school class size, separation of church and state, civil rights, voting rights for Washington, DC, in the U.S. Congress, and promoting civic participation. The current president of PFAW is Ralph Neas.
